My name is Kajani Arumugasamy. I live in Pandateruppu village. My district is Jaffna. The country is Sri Lanka.
I am founder & director of "Kaja's Homemade cakes".
I live with my parents and siblings. I am the second youngest child in my family.
I have a national diploma in teaching. My current full time job is teaching, subject is Home Economics and for the part time I decorate cake.
I love cake decorating not as a profession but as a hobby.
I got interested in cake decorating because of the enthusiasm of my father, mother and friends and my passion for cooking. The first time I got used to making cakes was from my school, Jaffna Pandateruppu girls' High School, which was taught by Mrs. Anusa Easwaran, a Home economics teacher.
She is still my role model till date. Starting with that, I made many types of cakes based on the YouTube website at home. Initially I made cake decorations only for home functions.
I was 19age at that time. After that, we were selected to Vavuniya National College of Education for the teacher education course and there we learned cake decorating from the resource person Mrs. Prasanna and held an exhibition. Following this, during the internship period of my college, I organized a cake decoration exhibition in Vavuniya Saivaprakasa girls’ College with the cooperation of principal, teachers and students. During this time, I made cake orders. My friend Pranavi, who is also a co-teacher of Religion subject , encouraged me to do this.
After this on 2021:06:20 I made a Facebook page for myself and distributed the icing cake in Jaffna district.
Later I started as surprise delivery and till today I am doing it as my favorite business venture. I am also getting cake icing orders from Sri Lankan diaspora people through social media. I also got the first award Woman icon “inspiring woman achiever award” this year.
I have my brothers, my parents, relatives and friends supporting my business. My dream in future starting cake.
Thank you to the Queen book team for giving me an outstanding identity and for giving me the “outstanding cake baker award”.
